The Original Hair Cinch™

Buyers Guide

How to choose a Hair Cinch™ that’s right for you!

"How long a Hair Cinch do you need?" We suggest:

4-Bead Hair Cinch™ for below the chin to shoulder length hair

6-Bead Hair Cinch™ for shoulder length to shoulder blade or mid-back length hair

8-Bead Hair Cinch™ for mid-back to waist length hair

10-Bead Hair Cinch™ for waist length hair or longer*

If you have EXTRA THICK hair, don’t forget to make a note on the Order Form. We add a little extra length to the leather strapping for you, at no extra charge.

*Custom Lengths: For those with really long hair past the waist, we accept custom length orders, for up to a 20-Bead Hair Cinch. However, custom lengths can be ordered at this time only through the mail.

"What Style Beads are best for you?"

Your choice of bead style impacts how long your Hair Cinch appears once installed in your hair. The Small Barrel bead creates the smallest length in an installation when the beads are very close together. The Celtic bead creates the average length Cinch when installed, and the Engraved Tube, being our longest bead, makes the longest Cinch section when it is installed.

All our beads are made from a strong, yet lightweight polymer resin that can stand up to a lifetime’s wear. The beads are so light that even the most tender-headed can hardly tell they have anything in their hair at all! We have three styles to choose from:

Celtic Style: This bead style will work great in ANYONE’s hair and is our most popular, best-selling bead. It’s often favored by those with very silky, fine hair (like the Inventor!). It has great holding power, especially for hair types that are too slippery for other hair accessories to hold. Fine, thick, curly, wavy, even layered hair works great with this bead style. It’s an excellent unisex style as well.

Small Barrel: This bead reminds us of a piece of pottery and is our smallest bead. It is excellent for its subtle appearance, and does well holding fine to fly-away hair. It looks great in small sections of hair and in ponytails, too. We chose it with children in mind, but it quickly has become a favorite for working women who want a more subtle style. It is also a favorite with the guys who wear them to work or to play. These have been enjoyed by active sport, boat, auto and motorcycle enthusiasts all over the country!

Engraved Tube:
This bead has a nicely engraved pattern and is a favorite with women of all ages. It is our longest bead style, and is an excellent choice for thin to thick long hair, especially in 6-bead lengths and longer. We don’t, however, recommend this style for super-silky baby-fine hair, which is best held with the Celtic or Small Barrel beads.

Things to keep in mind

After buying their first Hair Cinch, most of our customers come back for a variety of sizes, bead styles and leather colors. You’ll want to have a small wardrobe of Cinches to choose from, too, so you can create different hairstyles, and match different outfits or uses, such as horseback riding, cycling, or dancing. Variety can be the spice of life! With our Lifetime Warranty, you never have to buy the same Hair Cinch twice!

The possibilities for using the Original Hair Cinch are limited only by your imagination! Just about anyone can use a 4-bead Hair Cinch if their hair is longer than chin length. Someone with short hair or layered hair can do a great French Braid style or a partial ponytail (we call it the "Princess"). Someone else with very long hair might use the Cinch to secure all of their hair to the side, or install it over an existing braid, or use two Cinches for pigtails. Long and short haired people alike can use a 4-bead Hair Cinch like they would a scrunchie at the top of a ponytail, or in a small section of hair, like a hair wrap.
